The Ending of the Story: Date Night with Frank from Pilates
by Vivian Vale, 55
So there we were at that little Italian spot downtown. Frank from Pilates ordered the spaghetti like he was training for a marathon. I sipped my red wine and watched him twirl those noodles like his life depended on it.
After dinner he suggested a walk through the park. Honey, those stairs down to the fountain nearly did him in. He was huffing while I glided along like I owned the night.
We ended up at this jazz club until way past ten. Frank tried keeping up with the beat but his feet betrayed him every time the band picked up speed. I tapped my heel and laughed behind my hand.
When he finally walked me to my door the poor guy was wiped. I gave him a soft goodnight kiss right on the lips, nothing more. He looked at me like I'd just run a marathon in heels.
As I closed the door I heard him mutter something about Pilates tomorrow. That's when I knew the cougar stays on the prowl. Next time I'll skip the guy who taps out at ten and find one who can actually dance.
Some men just can't handle the pace, Sweetie.
