Things That Only Get Better After 50: The Full List
by Vivian Vale, 55
So there I was at the bar with that 38-year-old, Honey.
He grinned and asked for the full list after I told him earlier he couldn't even rent a car.
- Wine. A well-aged cabernet pours smoother and pairs perfectly with his curious questions.
- Cheese. Sharp cheddar at fifty-five develops flavors that make every bite worth the wait.
- Cast-iron pans. Years of seasoning let them cook evenly and bring out the best in everything.
- My jokes. The slow-burn ones now land perfectly and keep him laughing into the next round.
- Certain men. Like him at thirty-eight they ripen nicely once they learn how to listen.
- My confidence. It only grows stronger and lets me tease without missing a single beat.
- Vintage cars. A classic from the sixties handles the curves better with every passing year.
- My patience. It stretches further now and makes dealing with younger guys almost fun.
Some things really do improve with time, Sweetie.
