The Rest of the Story, in 5 Cheeky Rules
by Margot Hale, 58
After that grim March prognosis, I proved the doctor wrong and was gliding across the studio floor with my thirty-nine-year-old tango instructor every Tuesday.
My husband cheered me on while I practiced my steps at home.
- Pick the right partner. Mine was thirty-nine and knew how to lead. My husband cheered every smooth turn I made.
- Wear the red satin. The neckline drew every eye. Honey, some men just can't handle a woman back on her feet.
- Call it exercise. Hubby bought me strappy heels for physical therapy. Men always back your recovery until they see the fire.
- Master the dip. I dipped so low the crowd gasped. My first two husbands would have dropped me cold.
- Plan the recital. I nailed every turn while my husband clapped loudest. The doctor never showed his face.
Never trust a man, darling.
