The 5 Rules I Followed to Glow After He Left

After he left me for someone younger I poured the Cabernet and decided my glow was just beginning.

One year later his midnight call went unanswered while I finished my wine and drifted off like a queen.

  • Red lipstick before breakfast. One swipe and every man in the room forgets his own name. Works better than revenge.
  • Order the risotto slowly. I just smile and let the tension simmer. No need to rush anything anymore.
  • Let the phone ring twice. Especially at midnight. Let him picture exactly what he lost before it stops.
  • Walk like you own the room. Shoulders back, eyes forward. Waiters trip. My ex still checks the door.
  • Keep two glasses chilled. One for me. One for the silence that tastes far sweeter than his apology ever could.

Some rings are better left unanswered.
